Everyone needs true friends. They are essential for happiness and achievement. To gain true friends, you need to become a true friend.
What is a true friend like? A true friend is unselfish, sacrificial, considerate, and proactive. If you want true friends, you need to develop these traits. You need to become the type of person that you would like to be around.
This is hard, but forming real friendships is worth the effort. You and I were made for relationships. Without in-person relationships, people become anxious, sad, lonely, and depressed.
Also, the greatest people who ever lived had close friends, including: David, Esther, and George Washington. They did great things, but without strong relationships, it’s unlikely they could have done so.
The key to forming strong friendships is to become the person you would want to hang out with. You must develop character and virtue. To do this, it helps to study people who had friends.
