Do you want to have a fun time? Then sign up for a camp. Let me explain.
When I was about 16 years old, my parents took my brother and me to a Christian camp in upstate New York called Word of Life. I saw mountains, forests, massive pine trees, a big lake, and a lovely island. There were hundreds of young people, sports, paintball, competitions, music, comedy, lake time, ice cream cruise, a beach party, and opportunities to make new friends.
I did not want to go. I did not want to leave my comfort zone. However, the moment I stepped on the ferry boat, felt the cool air, and stepped onto the island, something started to change. When I met my cabin mates, and attended the first program, I was thrilled, and new it was going to be one of the funnest things I had ever experienced.
I attended the camp ten years in a row—five as a camper and five as a counselor. The camp changed my life, giving me confidence, friends, and wonderful memories.
Other camps such as Liberty University’s sports camp, were amazing too.
Give one a try. It might change your life for the better.
